PLAYMOBIL Owner Horst Brandstätter inducted into Toy Industry Hall of Fame
Zirndorf, Germany – April 28, 2014 – PLAYMOBIL company owner Horst Brandstätter recently returned from his winter residence in Florida back to the German headquarters in Zirndorf with a very special “souvenir”. He brought an award certifying that he has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Toy Industry Association (TIA) in the USA. Mr. Brandstätter is the first German toy manufacturer given this exceptional honor since it was first awarded in 1985. Now the still active entrepreneur joins famous toy industry leaders like F.A.O. Schwarz, George Lucas and Walt Disney. Happy about this “accolade”, as he calls it, Horst Brandstätter says: “Last year I have been able to celebrate my 80th birthday. This year, the Playmobil figures turn half as old. The honor of my life’s work therefore means a lot to me. I am grateful for this award and would like to thank the jury, as well as the whole Playmobil company family.” He has not thought of a final spot for his award yet – it is still lying on his desk, readily available for showing it to visitors.
